Meet the Founder
Emi Mess was founded in 2020 by its Creative Director, Emilie Messal. The name itself, an abbreviation of her own, reflects the intimate bond between the creator and her Maison — an eponymous brand by excellence.
In her appartement privé, nestled in La Ciotat on the Mediterranean coast, a delicate curation of textures, light, and objects of beauty shapes the atmosphere in which Emilie designs. From this intimate gem — her appartement atelier — emerged fluid, purposeful silhouettes, a distinctive universe conceived as a tribute to her grandmother.
Going against the tide, Emilie embraces a seasonless vision, far from fast fashion and deeply rooted in sustainability. Her creations blend vaporous fluidity with architectural precision, shaped in luxurious fabrics. A timeless monochrome palette ensures each piece transcends seasons, destined to endure.

Launched just fifteen days before the first lockdown in France, Emi Mess emerged as an independent French luxury label — a journey into handmade design, rooted in tradition and sustainability.

At Emi Mess, every collection is a continuation of the last. Nothing is lost, everything is preserved and transmitted. A core collection remains at the heart of the Maison, around which new designs gradually evolve, creating a continuum of style, meaning, and heritage.
An Ode to Janine
Emi Mess became a means of expression, a creative outlet. When her grandmother passed away, Emilie found solace in work and creation. It was the Janine collection, named in her honor, that served as an anchor — marking the beginning of her stylistic fulfillment.
